Materials and Processes: Water Color Crayons (first layer) Pitt Pen (outlining and detail work) Matte medium and Collage Papers  and Washi Tape (next layer) Art Anthology Paints (next layer)  Aqua Markers and White Sakura Pen (more details) Stickers (words, letters, and numbers) Glass Beads Medium and Star confetti (background) Butterfly cut outs and Pop Dots (finishing touches) For 2016, my word that I chose to concentrate on is HEALING.  With my best friend at my side (my kitty) and my spirit animals, the butterflies (technically these are moths), I intend to "Begin a Healing Journey".

"Healing with the Arts" This is a book that I bought on my trip to Portland at Powell's Bookstore. I started a little journal to sketch out butterflies and mix visual art from Chapter 5 with Words from Chapter 6 in the book " Healing with the Arts"

I am still in love with this color pallette!  Love the turquiose, aqua, white, and rusty colors..... says fall to me.  It also says beach trip!  In just a few more days, I am going to visit in Portland and Yachats :-)  Squee!!!!  Super Excited! I have had this box sitting around my studio for ages.... I thought it was time to bring it out and  paint!  My intention is to put mini trinkets in to from my trip to Yachats beach when I return from my trip. Healing with the Arts Week 4: What needs to be healed

http://www.healingwiththearts.com/the-book/ This week's topic was finding out what needs to be healed.  I have included the notes from my reading as well as my personal experience with the guided imagery and praxis.  These are very personal but they taught me a lot about inner healing.   This week was also about figuring out what I wanted my final art/healing project to be.  I talk about that here as well. As a matter of fact, I had decided that it would have something to do with my animal spirit and my transforming what needs to be healed into something else.  I happened to step outside my art studio door and find a caterpillar and a butterfly.  Maybe it was a sign that I was headed in the right direction.
