The Inner Child Project- The Guardian

Image
The Inner Child Project- The Guardian This year I have been doing some inner child work (see my other blog posts) and came to the point in the process where I am supposed to create a Guardian to look over and protect my inner children as I do this work.  I happened to be participating in a free mini-class by Ivy Newport (  https://ivynewport.com/spring-fever  ) in which we use our own portrait to create a guardian angel.  While I was working, it just hit me out of nowhere that I should be my own guardian angel- my grown self.  So, I finished the painting and call her "The Guardian" and she will join my other inner child paintings to watch over and protect all of the inner children.

Book of Days Week 13 with Effy Wild

Book of Days Week 13 with Effy Wild "In the Round" https://100mandalas.com/great-round/ Mandalas tell a story.  According to 100mandalas,  there are 12 psychological stagesthat we all go through in life which can be divided into four categories:  milestones, creativity, challenges, and embracing something new.  I chose to combine challenges and embracing something new to create my art journal pages.  I chose to look at sameness and change.  I ended up with a two sided mandala and freejournaling about each.  All of my art journal page was done with Sakura Jelly Roller Pens on black gesso.

Journal 52 Week 11 DREAM with Effy Wild

Journal 52  Week 11  DREAM  with Effy Wild Artists have many dreams.  Some say they are dreamers.  I have had many dreams and have fulfilled many of them.  I have been published numerous times, participated in a few shows, sold my art at art fairs, etc.  The past year or so I haven't really been feeling it.  I really didn't have a focus.   However, I have recently been asked for pieces by several businesses in my area.  So now, I have a new dream.

Moonshine March 2018 New Moon in Pisces

Image
Moonshine March 2018  New Moon in Pisces Pisces is emotionally intelligent, empathetic, and attuned.  Stuff might come up to be tended- not bypassed, ignored, or projected.  Man!  This explains a lot of what is going on with me right now.  I plan to journal it out on the facing page.

Moonshine 2018 Ash Moon in Virgo with Effy Wild

Moonshine 2018  Ash Moon in Virgo  with Effy Wild Running behind in my art groups and classes  (as usual)  I am catching up somewhat while working on three independent art projects for different organizations.   I thought that I would keep this spread simple by working with collage but ended up spending a few hours using many mixed media tools.  I am pretty happy with the end result.

Book of Days Week 11 with Effy Wild Art Journal Pages

Book of Days Week 11  with Effy Wild  Art Journal Pages Two weeks ago, someone stole my art journal that I was using for this year.  It was hand bound and all of my work since January was in it.  Sad was I.  However, I am moving on and am using my favorite pre-made art journal by Dylusions.  I like the bigger one but it is hard to scan and post... I am not really tech savvy LOL.  Here is my spread for BOD week 11-

Journal 52 Week 9 TRANSFORM with Effy Wild

Image
Journal 52 Week 9 TRANSFORM with Effy Wild      I began with a wash of watered down fluid acrylics.  I then used Pan Pastels to finish the sky and the grass and flowers.  I used a stamp or the butterfly.  After using fixative, I used Posca acrylic paint pens to write and put on the finishing details.  I sealed the journal pages with matte medium.
